Things have been going great so far for Marvel’s partnership with Netflix. Shows like “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones” have been huge hits and now everyone’s gearing up for “Luke Cage.” But Marvel hasn’t released many details regarding the Iron Fist series and there have been a lot of rumors swirling around the Internet as far as what’s going to happen with the show.
But Mike Colter recently revealed some encouraging news for fans that are anxious to see the series come to life. Colter says that an actor has already been cast to play Iron Fist but Marvel just hasn’t told the public who it is yet.
“The actor has been cast, but he’s in a basement somewhere. When the time is right, they’ll let him up and tell him where he is. I am [excited]. I’ll get a nice little break, after doing Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Whether I’m in [his show], I don’t know, but there’s The Defenders.” Colter told Collider.
Colter’s character Luke Cage played a big role in the first season of “Jessica Jones.” Colter also opened up a little bit about whether or not the “Luke Cage” series is going to feel like a spin-off or sequel to “Jessica Jones” and he assured fans that it will definitely feel like its own thing.
“Jessica Jones is very unique, and we are all in awe of the response from the public. It seems that everyone connected with the character, and we enjoyed shooting it. We pride ourselves on all being unique shows, and Luke Cage is definitely not a sequel to Jessica Jones or a spin-off. You couldn’t tell Jessica Jones’ story without telling Luke Cage’s story. That being said, I look forward to seeing what Luke Cage has to offer. We’re almost done shooting.” Colter added.
As of right now there’s no set premiere date for the “Luke Cage” series. But the official Jessica Jones Twitter account posted a teaser photo the other day that hints at a November release date. You can check it out below.
