Next year when “Avengers: Infinity War” is released it will be the culmination of 10 years of hard work from everyone involved with Marvel Studios. The Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off in 2008 with “Iron Man” and it has since grown to become one of the most successful franchises in movie history.
But fans have been wondering about the future of the MCU, as so far no films have been announced past the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” sequel which is set to be released in 2019, but that doesn’t mean Marvel doesn’t have big plans for future movies.
Kevin Feige recently spoke to Vanity Fair, and he revealed that there are another 20 movies being planned.
“22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before—intentionally,” Feige said.
It’s important to note that Feige said that the new films will be intentionally different, as Disney C.E.O. Bob Iger added that they want to explore new worlds.
“We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate—geographically or in time—from the worlds that we’ve already visited,” Iger explained.
With so many characters in the mix at this point, who are you hoping to see get their own standalone film in the MCU? Sound off in the comments below.
