We mentioned earlier today that a photo of The Punisher on the set of “Daredevil” season 2 had hit the Internet but now EW has officially released the HD version of the picture and it looks glorious. Which you can check out above and below.
Fans are already drawing a connection between the image above and this familiar scene from the comics.
In the scene The Punisher chains up Daredevil and places a gun in his hand forcing him to make a choice. Daredevil can either kill The Punisher and prevent him from killing someone else, or he can sit back and watch The Punisher take a life. Judging from what showrunner Doug Petrie told EW, it sounds likely that we’ll be seeing a similar scenario play out in season 2.
“Viewers watching the show will be rooting for this guy with a gun but we’re also going to force people — the way we force Matt — to second-guess themselves. Taking lethal justice into your own hands in America in 2015 is tricky s–t. We have not shied away from the rich complicated reality of Now. If you’ve got a gun and you’re not the police you’re going to incite strong feelings. We’re stirring the pot and we’re aware of the headlines where we live and we’re trying to get people to think.” Petrie said.
Season 2 of “Daredevil” is currently in production.
