Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” season 4 kicked off in a big way last year when the show introduced the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider, and it appears that we may not have seen that last of Ghost Rider on the show.
At the end of the season, Coulson made a deal that allowed Ghost Rider to take over his body so that the team could defeat Aida, and after the Rider left his body, Robbie Reyes told him that eventually he would have to pay his debt.
At this point it’s not known what type of deal Coulson made, or what type of debt he owes, but during a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Clark Gregg noted that the plot threat will be picked up once again in season 5.
“What I would say is the deal he made with Ghost Rider at the end of season four, that debt will come due at some point and I think it just raises the stakes on everything going forward.”
One thing’s for sure, it will definitely be interesting to see how this story unfolds as it was one of the most intriguing plot threads from the season 4 finale.
Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will return to ABC on Friday, December 1.
