This week’s episode opened up with a flashback of Julian Albert in the Indus Valley, as he was searching for the Philosopher’s Stone. Julian and his crew found the stone, and when he opened the box the power was unleashed, and then the show cut to the present.
Barry Allen confronted Julian at the CCPD, and he asked him about the stone. Julian told him that the Philosopher’s Stone could be used to give people powers, and that he became obsessed with finding it, but he never found it.
Barry then traveled to Earth-3 to recruit Jay Garrick, who was dealing with Trickster, and he helped him take Trickster down. Barry told Jay about Savitar, and Jay seemed somewhat surprised that Savitar had contacted Barry. Back on Earth-1, Jay told Barry all the myths, rumors and stories he’s heard about Savitar, and he told him that if Savitar is after him, then Savitar must feel threatened. Jay told Barry they would team up to take him down.
Later in the episode, Iris told Barry that she looked into Julian’s story, and found out that four people were killed while he was looking for the stone, and Barry started to suspect that there’s a connection between Dr. Alchemy and Julian.
Barry and Jay went after Alchemy, then Savitar showed up. Jay told Barry to get the stone, and he would take care of Savitar. Jay wasn’t able to put up much of a fight, as Savitar wrecked him. Barry got a hold of the stone, and he closed it in a stone box. As Savitar was about to kill Jay, he disappeared when Barry closed the box.
Barry removed Dr. Alchemy’s mask and he discovered that Alchemy is Julian. He locked Julian up at S.T.A.R. Labs. The Flash told Julian he’s Alchemy, and Julian claimed he didn’t believe him.
It was revealed that H.R. Wells has been training Wally, and that Wally is faster than Barry was when he was at the same point during his training. Joe went off on H.R. for training Barry, and Wally took the blame.
The Flash told Julian he’s trying to help him, and Julian took a shot at his mask, so he took the mask off, and revealed his identity. He told Julian he’s Alchemy, and he asked him to trust him. Julian revealed he’s been having blackouts. He told Barry that his dead sister came to him and told him about the stone, and he started having blackouts after he found it. He talked about how four people died during the expedition, and said he didn’t want to be blamed for their deaths, so he came to America.
As this was happening Cisco was having visions of his dead brother Dante, and Dante told him to open the box, so he did, then Dante disappeared, and Savitar appeared behind Cisco.
Savitar the started beating up Barry in S.T.A.R. Labs, and Jay couldn’t back him up because he was hurt, so Wally jumped in. Caitlyn tried to tell Cisco to close the box, but Dante reappeared and tried to talk him out of it. He closed it after Caitlyn told him Barry and Wally were about to die, and then Savitar disappeared.
Team Flash tried to find a way to contact Savitar through Julian. Savitar used Julian’s body to talk to Barry, and Barry told him he’s not a god. Savitar told Team Flash that he knows their destinies.
He said that one of them will betray the team and he looked at Wally, he said one of them will fall and he looked at Cisco, then he said one will suffer a fate far worse then death, then he looked Caitlyn and Iris.
Savitar told Barry that he wants everything, and everything Barry took from him he will take back. Savitar revealed that Barry’s future self trapped him in eternity, and he told him that the age of his revenge is rising, and everyone will feel his wrath.
Team Flash decided they need to destroy the stone to destroy Savitar, and Julian told them it couldn’t be done. Jay Garrick decided that he and Barry need to team up, and throw the stone into the speed force.
Barry and Jay raced through the pipeline, and Barry threw the stone into the speed force, then he was transported through a portal. He saw another version of himself arguing with Savitar as Savitar was holding Iris. Savitar killed Iris, then Jay Garrick grabbed Barry and brought him back to the present. Jay told Barry that he just saw a vision of the future.
He asked Jay if that was going to happen, and Jay told him that he didn’t know. Barry told him he could stop this from happening by going back to that moment, Jay told him he can never go back, and no one should know that much about their future because it’s always changing. Jay told him to focus on the present because the future isn’t written yet.
Jay Garrick went back to Earth-3, and Barry told Team Flash that everything’s cool, and the stone is gone. Julian tried to leave, but Caitlyn stopped him and asked him if he had Christmas plans, but he said he wants to be alone.
The team met up for a Christmas party, and everyone gave Wally his Kid Flash costume as a present. Barry opened the door and Julian joined the party. He gave Barry his job back.
Barry Allen revealed his Christmas present to Iris, and it was an apartment for the both of them. The episode ended on a happy note with no cliffhanger for once.
