Team Arrow has been divided into two separate teams following the events of the midseason finale. After Oliver got word that someone on the team was going to turn him over to FBI agent Samandra Watson, he and original Team Arrow spied on the new recruits, and that didn’t end well.
Black Canary, Mister Terrific and Wild Dog are now out on their own, and Echo Kellum recently told Variety that they’ll be doing things differently compared to how Oliver runs the show.
“They want to kind of have a different spin to a team than the original Team Arrow. They want a more democratic approach rather than having one person lead. It’s more of a shared leadership between them.”
The CW recently released and extended trailer showing new footage from what’s to come in the weeks ahead, and it definitely looks like the two teams will be at odds for a little while.
Kellum noted that fans will likely be torn, but he hopes they cheer for the new team.
“I think that the material we’re doing, the storylines we’re doing, we will have a pull for people pulling for New Team Arrow. I’m hopeful that our team can pick up some type of following. I’m sure fans will be torn, but it should make for good TV.”
“Arrow” returns on Thursday, January 18.
