Jon Bernthal is throwing himself headfirst into the character of Frank Castle for “Daredevil” season 2 but details have been slim on what the Punisher’s role would be up until now. Nerdist is claiming that the showrunner is referring to the second season as “Daredevil vs. The Punisher” meaning the two will definitely be at odds.
“According to our source, newly appointed co-showrunner Marco Ramirez is referring to season two as “Daredevil vs. the Punisher.” We’ll now take a brief hiatus while you high five everyone in the room. All done? Good! Now obviously we knew that Daredevil and the Punisher would wind up at each other’s throats, but this news makes it seem like the Punisher could be the big bad for the entire second season. Or will he?” Nerdist reported.
Their report goes on to speculate that since Matt Murdock put the Kingpin away, other criminals will rise to power trying to fill the gap. This will cause the Punisher to enforce his special brand of justice which will create a rift between him and Daredevil.
This just put the hype for “Daredevil” season 2 at an all time high. The second season will premiere on Netflix sometime in the first half of 2016.
