Most fans seem to agree that “Arrow” season 5 has been a return to form for the series. Prometheus has been one of the most intriguing villains to ever appear on the show, but don’t look for him to follow the pattern set by previous villains in the season finale.
Each and every year Star City falls victim to a major terrorist attack, but executive producer Wendy Mericle recently revealed at PaleyFest that Prometheus will be keeping things personal when season 5 comes to an end (via Rotten Tomatoes).
“I’ll just say this: Star City is not in jeopardy,” she said on the red carpet. “As we’ve joked before, there’s always a terrorist attack on Star City in May. Not this time. Prometheus is a very personal villain, very psychological villain and the ending will be appropriate to that.”
Prometheus has certainly been a different type of villain that’s for sure, as his goal is not to kill Oliver Queen, but to make him suffer. We’re still weeks away from the season 5 finale and it seems like Oliver has suffered quite a bit this year, so it should be interesting to see how Prometheus raises the stakes in the final episode of the season.
“Arrow” will return on Wednesday with “Kapiushon.”
“Prometheus (Josh Segarra) goes to great lengths to break Oliver (Stephen Amell). Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Anatoly (guest star David Nykl) becomes worried about Oliver’s increasingly violent tendencies, which come to a head in a brutal confrontation. Kevin Tancharoen directed the episode written by Brian Ford Sullivan & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.”
