Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is returning for season 4 in September and the characters will be in a very different place compared to where they were in season 3.
Phil Coulson is no longer the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Grant Ward is finally dead, or so it seems, and Daisy has gone rogue, oh yeah Ghost Rider is coming too.
Despite all of the shifts that took place toward the end of the season, it looks like the people that are still on the team will be working as a functioning unit when the show returns. Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen recently spoke to EW and revealed that the characters will be coping with the events of season 3 in their own weird way.
“The one thing that you’ll really see across the board with all of our characters is that they’re just in ‘Let’s move mode – let’s just move on from what went down,’” Maurissa Tancharoen revealed. “Whether or not that’s just a coping mechanism or denial of all of the trauma that they’ve experienced, I think them being so functional will start to unravel.”
Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will return on Tuesday, September 20.
