If there’s one thing that the writers, producers and directors of the Arrowverse do well, it’s crossovers. For the past two years “Arrow” and “The Flash” have been delivering exciting crossover episodes and now Barry Allen will be traveling to another world next week when he crosses over the “Supergirl.”
Executive Producer Greg Berlanti recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and revealed that Barry will accidentally cross over while running with a tachyon generator strapped to his chest. Berlanti described Barry as “the door” that will hopefully allow for more crossovers to happen in the future.
“[Barry] was the door, the gateway,” Berlanti says. “He’s the only one who had the capacity to open that door, and hopefully now it’s [staying] open.
When asked if Supergirl will ever make her way over to “The Flash” he seemed very open to the idea.
“We would love that,” Berlanti says. “We’re waiting to see the audience reaction from something like this.”
He also pointed out that the crossover will be more than just a gimmick episode. Barry Allen’s appearance will have an impact on “Supergirl” going forward.
“The Flash coming to Supergirl really helps Supergirl overcome the challenge that she had been dealing with. His advice to her about how she should be living her life is about to have repercussions as far as Jimmy [Mehcad Brooks] is concerned.”
Hype is definitely at an all time high for the Supergirl/Flash crossover and luckily we won’t have to wait much longer to see it. “Worlds Finest” airs Monday, March 28 on CBS at 8pm EST.
