The Internet exploded not too long ago when Marvel announced that Jon Bernthal would be playing The Punisher in “Daredevil” season 2. Fans have been begging Marvel to do something with the character for quite some time and “Daredevil” seems to be the perfect place for him to land. Jon recently spoke to CBS about getting picked to play Frank Castle on the show and he seems thrilled to have landed the part.
“I’m extremely honored and grateful, and I know the character has a ton of fans out there. I give every single one of them my word that I’m going to give it my all,” Bernthal told CBS.
Bernthal seems to be doing his homework for the role as photos have surfaced recently of him both purchasing and actually reading Punisher comic books. It should be interesting to see how he brings the character to life.
“Daredevil” season 2 will start shooting in a few weeks and will premiere on Netflix in 2016.
