Robert Kirkman confirmed recently that “The Walking Dead” spin-off show “Fear The Walking Dead” will be premiering on AMC in late August. He also confirmed that the new show will have a six episode run for the first season.
Kirkman also recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the timelines for the two shows will eventually overlap.
“I will say that I don’t consider this show to be a prequel to The Walking Dead, because there will be a point where a certain episode of this show will line up with season 2 of The Walking Dead, and a certain episode of this show will line up with season 3 of The Walking Dead. So we will be progressing through time to the point that we do pass the initial days of the outbreak. But how fast it is that we get there? That’s just going to have to remain a mystery.” Kirkland said.
Once again this goes along with the theme that the show isn’t a prequel but more of a companion piece which means more zombies for everyone. There’s just no such thing as too many zombies on TV am I right?
Like Kirkman said above, we don’t know when the two shows will overlap but we do know that “Fear The Walking Dead” will begin before the zombie apocalypse. It should be interesting to see how it all comes together.
