It seems that everyone on “Arrow” gets to return or come back from the dead at some point on the show, but those rules haven’t applied to Tommy Merlyn who died in the season one finale.
Tommy has stayed dead ever since, although he has appeared in flashbacks, and we did meet his Earth-X counterpart in last year’s “Crisis On Earth-X” crossover event.
It was recently discovered in the most recent episode that Tommy’s father had discovered three more Lazarus Pits, but don’t expect Tommy to be resurrected anytime soon.
However, it looks like he will be appearing in a flashback sequence, as Stephen Amell revealed on Twitter that Colin Donnell was recently on the “Arrow” set.

Season 6 has mostly stayed away from flashback sequences, but it looks like there’s a chance we could see the infamous Oliver Queen wig return in the weeks to come. Either way, wig or no wig, it looks like we’ll be seeing Tommy Merlyn sooner than later.
“Arrow” will return on Thursday with “Brothers In Arms.”
