Big spoilers ahead for night 1 of “Crisis On Earth-X.”
The first night of the “Arrowverse” crossover featured quite a few huge reveals with twists and turns along the way. It was clear right away that this year’s crossover is different from any of the others that come before it, and the first night truly played out like a two hour movie.
The West-Allen wedding was invaded in the first episode, and several villains from Earth-X, including Prometheus-X, crashed the party.
Prometheus-X was captured and locked up in S.T.A.R. Labs, and he was later revealed to be Tommy Merlyn of Earth-X after he took off his mask.
Oliver was shocked to see his friend’s face again, but their conversation ended with Tommy telling Oliver that the Fuhrer will destroy their world, and then he killed himself by taking a cyanide capsule.
It’s been a long time since fans have seen Tommy Merlyn appear in the “Arrowverse” and it seems that Colin Donnell was happy to reprise his role once again. After the episode aired, Donnell took to Twitter to thank the powers that be for bringing him back.
Being back on the @CW_Arrow set in a scene with @StephenAmell being directed by @JamesBamford playing an evil alternate version of Tommy was so fantastic. Thanks for having me back Family. #CrisisOnEarthX

No one ever really stays dead in the “Arrowverse” and fans have been asking for Tommy’s return for quite some time.
A full time return to the show seems unlikely at this point as Colin Donnell is busy with other projects, but it was still nice to see Tommy and Oliver reunited, even if it was due to unpleasant circumstances.
