This year the big bad on “The Flash” is a little different, because he’s not a speedster. Instead Barry Allen and Team Flash are going up against The Thinker, but so far not that much is known about The Thinker’s grand plan.
In this week’s episode Barry will come face to face with the man known as Devoe, and Grant Gustin has teased that in the weeks to come, Barry will become obsessed with The Thinker.
However, unlike villains from previous seasons, this year’s big bad won’t become obsessed with The Flash.
During a recent interview with TV Line, Grant Gustin shared some new details about Devoe’s plan, and he noted that The Thinker has a big vision for Central City, and he’s not necessarily focused on Team Flash.
“The Thinker is less about Barry and more about his vision of Central City, and how he thinks he can make it better and make the world better,” Gustin said. “He doesn’t really become obsessed with Barry and the team.”
Judging from what we’ve seen so far in season 4, it seems that The Thinker is trying to manipulate Barry into doing something without him knowing it, but what that is isn’t clear at this point.
