“Arrow” fans know that Oliver Queen seems to have a way with women. He’s been connected to some of the most wonderful women in the “Arrowverse” and now Susan Williams appears to be his main squeeze.
In the midseason finale of “Arrow,” Oliver made his way over to Susan’s apartment, and they locked lips. However, some fans think that they ended up taking their relationship to the next level physically, but Wendy Mericle says that’s not the case.
“I understand that some on Twitter have a radically different opinion…,” co-showrunner Wendy Mericle told TV Line. “But in my mind, they did not [have sex]. The intention was that they did not.”
Although Susan seems to be doing a great job at getting close to Oliver Queen, viewers know that she can’t be trusted. Either way fans are going to have to get used to her because Mericle says Oliver and Susan will be going “all in” on their relationship.
“They’re going to go ‘all in’ [on the relationship] at some point, for sure. But one of the things that’s interesting about [Susan] is that they do have a genuine relationship — she really does care about Oliver, and vice versa — and yet she has been on this track of trying to find out who he is and what he’s up to. And not just as the mayor, but beyond that.”
Susan has been digging in to Oliver Queen’s past and while he was at her apartment the camera lingered on bottle of Russian vodka, and according to Mericle the foreshadowing was meant to be obvious.
If you’ve seen all of the episodes of “Arrow” up to this point then you know that Oliver Queen’s romantic relationships never end well, so it should be interesting to see how this one ends.
