“The Flash” is set up for a big second half of season 3 in 2017, and it looks like we’ll be seeing the return of a big villain. Gorilla Grodd actor David Sobolov noted on Twitter that Grodd will be returning in 2017.

Fans last saw Gorilla Grodd in season 2 when he kidnapped Caitlyn Snow before Harry Wells of Earth-2 sent him to a planet full of other gorillas.
During a TCA panel back in August producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed the return of Gorilla Grodd, and he revaled that the plan at the time was to do a two part episode set in Gorilla City. Hopefully that’s still the plan as it sounds like it could make for a very fun episode of “The Flash.”
Barry Allen likely won’t be thrilled to encounter Gorilla Grodd once again because he has a lot to worry about at the moment. During the winter finale, Barry traveled to the future and saw Savitar kill Iris, and now he is determined to make sure that doesn’t happen.
When the show returns we’ll be seeing more of Wally West as Kid Flash is integrated into Team Flash, and Jessica Camacho is also set to join the show as Gypsy.
“The Flash” will return with new a new episode on January 24.
