There’s been a lot of talk about returns on the show as of late, and Michael Rowe recently spoke to Comicbook.com about possibly reprising his role as Deadshot. Rowe made it clear that he would be more than happy to return if given the opportunity, and he said that he wants to see Deadshot and Deathstroke team up.

“One of them would be a Deadshot/Deathstroke either versus or team-up. Me and Manu [Bennett] are pretty fiery when we get together in real life, so we would love to see us through those characters end up in the same scenes and the same scenarios together; I think that would be real fun and real interesting.”

A few weeks ago Stephen Amell and producer Marc Guggenheim announced that Manu Bennett would be returning as Deathstroke, but then things got weird. Manu Bennett went out of his way to continuously deny that he was returning, and he ended up confusing a lot of people.

Luckily Manu wasn’t telling the truth, as apparently he wanted to keep the return a surprise even though Amell and Guggenheim already shared the news with the world.

Fans were thrilled to see Bennett on “Arrow” this week, and he seems thrilled to be back, he posted the following on Instagram:

It was recently teased that Oliver Queen will be making some unlikely alliances in his quest to take down Prometheus, and naturally fans are now assuming that he’ll be forming some sort of alliance with Slade Wilson.

After Stephen Amell made the big announcement about Manu Bennett’s return, and producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed Bennett’s return via Twitter, Bennett acted surprised about the announcement.

He then posted a very confusing tweet that left a lot of fans scratching their heads.

Regardless of Manu’s confusing tweets, one way or another, it looks like Deathstroke is returning for the finale, and according to Stephen Amell and Marc Guggenheim, we’ll be seeing Manu Bennett back on “Arrow”

Obviously it made sense for Oliver Queen to come out on top in his rivalry with Slade Wilson, but many fans were upset when Slade returned for an episode in season 3 where he was easily defeated by Oliver and Thea on Lian Yu.

Manu Bennett spoke out about the way that Deathstroke was used in season 3, as he feels that the beating he took at the hands of Oliver and Thea only added “insult to injury.”

Bennett received some backlash for making the comments, but he noticed that a lot of fans agreed with him. Manu recently spoke to Digital Spy about his comments and how Deathstroke was built up and he noted that the “next phase” will likely determine how Deathstroke is to be perceived in the “Arrowverse.”

“Maybe that was a bit unfortunate, because it got exacerbated by the way people would tweet it, it was like, ‘How dare he bash these producers who’d given him this opportunity?’ – all this sort of stuff. But I think the comments that I made had a huge resonance with most fans, who agreed that Deathstroke is meant to be this undefeatable force. We built him up to that and then I guess the next phase is what will determine what all that means.”

Deathstroke was one of the most popular characters on “Arrow” and there are many fans hoping to see him return, but Bennett teased that if he does return we won’t see it coming.

“There’s a lot of fans wanting Deathstroke back,” he said. “If Deathstroke shows up again on Arrow, everyone will be a lot happier if they didn’t know [in advance].”

“Arrow” airs Wednesdays on the CW.
