Star Wars made a triumphant return to theaters two years ago with “The Force Awakens” and the saga will continue next month. “The Force Awakens” left fans with a lot of unanswered questions, and even though some of them will be answered in “The Last Jedi” the series will still leave some plot threads open by the time the credits role.
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy recently appeared on The Star Wars Show and she confirmed that some, but not all questions will be answered.
“I think [Rian’s] done an exceptional job of taking these new characters and some of the legacy characters and moving us to this next place,” Kennedy said via LRM. “He doesn’t answer all the questions, I will say that up front. But there are certain questions he does answer in a really wonderfully provocative way, and I think there’ll be some surprises that people aren’t expecting.”
Obviously the question that fans want answered the most revolves around Rey’s parents and who they are. Everyone seems to have their own theory, and her lineage has been the source of much debate over the past two years.
Hopefully the big question is at least one of the mysteries that will be solved in “The Last Jedi” but we’ll just have to wait and see.
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens in theaters on December 15, 2017.
