Sophie Turner On The Biggest Difference’s Between Her Jean Grey And Famke Janssen’s

Famke Janssen brought a lot to the role of Jean Grey in the first three X-Men movies. But now it’s time for Sophie Turner to take the reigns when “X-Men: Apocalypse” opens in a few months. Sophie recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what makes her portrayal of the character different. She pointed out that we’ll be meeting Jean at a very different time in her life compared to where she was in the first X-Men movie.

“The difference between this and Famke’s Jean Grey is she’s young and isolated and so insecure and very alienated – even from the other mutants – because she’s so powerful. So there’s a real vulnerability to her and it’s great to see how her and Scott [Tye Sheridan] find each other through that alienation. She’s a great role to play, she’s so much fun, and her arc in the movie is amazing.”  Sophie told EW.

As Sophie pointed out, she’ll be interacting with Tye Sheridan who plays Cyclops in the film. This entry will see many newcomers join the franchise as Lana Condor is set to play Jubilee, Olivia Munn is suiting up as Psylocke and Oscar Isaac is taking on the role of the famed Apocalypse. We’re also going to see James McAvoy finally embrace the bald Professor X look. So there’s that to look forward to as well.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
