Talk About A Punisher Solo Show Is Just Speculation According To Marvel’s Jeph Loeb

As soon as it was announced a few years ago that Marvel would be working with Netflix, fans immediately started talking about a possible Punisher series. All of the talk intensified once Jon Bernthal was cast as the character for “Daredevil” season 2. There’s been a lot of rumors and speculation about whether or not The Punisher will get his own show on Netflix. But according to Marvel Television’s Executive Vice President Jeph Loeb, speculation is all it is.

“I think that’s something that people are speculating on, as opposed to something that’s actually happening.” Loeb told Digital Spy.

Of course The Punisher is a popular character and Loeb did mention that he hopes Bernthal’s portrayal of Frank Castle resonates with the fans.

It’s certainly our hope that any of our characters will be embraced and that people want to see more of them.” Loeb added.

Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like there are any plans in place for a Punisher spin-off at the moment. But we’re only a few weeks ago away the premiere of “Daredevil” season 2 and The Punisher is set to be a key player this time around. And judging from the footage we’ve seen so far it looks like he’s going to be an awesome addition. It’s a safe bet that people will be asking for more of him as soon as they finish binge watching the newest season.

“Daredevil” season 2 hits Netflix on March 18.
