We all remember last year when Ben Affleck got the “sad Ben Affleck” treatment when someone took a video of Affleck looking sad during an interview and added “The Sound of Silence” to the clip. Now Kevin Feige is getting the same treatment.
Feige recently participated in an interview where he talked about “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and Sony executive Amy Pascal was a part of the interview as well. During the interview Pascal was asked if the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff films will be connected to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and she said that they will exist in the same world as Peter Parker.
Seeing as how Spider-Man currently exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in order for characters like Venom, Black Cat and Silver Sable to share the same universe with Parker that means they will have to have at least a loose connection to the MCU as well.
Kevin Feige recently said in an interview that there are no plans for Venom in the MCU, and his reaction as Pascal broke the news presented the perfect opportunity for “sad Kevin Feige” to take his rightful place as the next “sad Ben Affleck.” Check it out below.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.
