Phil Coulson Returning To The Big Screen In Captain Marvel

Phil Coulson played a part in bringing The Avengers together in Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he was seemingly killed off in the first Avengers film. Coulson was later resurrected for Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” on ABC, but it’s been confirmed he will be making his return to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clark Gregg will be reprising his role as Phil Coulson in “Captain Marvel.”

It’s going to be great to see Coulson in a Marvel film again, but events of the film will be set in the 1990s, which means they’ll be taking place before Phase One. So, unfortunately we’ll still have to wait and see if The Avengers eventually find out Coulson is alive.

It’s also been confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson will be appearing in the film as Nick Fury and Lee Pace once again will once again play Ronan, the villain of the first Guardians film. Djimon Hounsou is set to reprise his role as Korath the Pursuer who also appeared in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The film will star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, and it will feature the Skrulls as the villains of the film.

“Captain Marvel” will open in theaters on March 8, 2019.
