Soon fans will be able to see Deadpool back in action on the big screen when “Deadpool 2” hits theaters, but fans won’t be seeing him in an animated series on FX anytime soon.

Last year FX announced they had sent a Deadpool animated series sent to series. The show was set to be written by Donald Glover with plans for it to air on FXX.

However, the network has now announced that they will not be involved with the series at all, but their partnership with Marvel will continue. FX released the following statement:

“Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series. FX will no longer be involved with the project. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on Legion, which will continue.”

At this point in time it’s not clear if Marvel TV will continue to pursue a potential Deadpool animated series, or if Donald Glover will be involved should they move forward.

It’s a shame that we won’t be seeing this series, but we won’t have to wait much longer to see “Deadpool 2” which is set to open in theaters on May 18.
