DC and Marvel are the two biggest names in comics, and now both companies are bringing action packed movies to the big screen every year. The latest DC film to hit theaters is “Wonder Woman” and the movie is getting rave reviews as it crushes the box office.

Next month Marvel will get their chance to impress fans with “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and some fans like to play up a potential rivalry between the two companies. However, Feige says there’s no rivalry as far as he’s concerned, and during a recent Facebook Live video, he said he’s always rooting for DC to do well.

“There’s not really a rivalry. The rivalry is much more amongst the press, I think. Geoff Johns is a very good friend of mine. We grew up together in the business and recently celebrated Richard Donner, who we both used to work for. So, I applaud all the success he’s had. I really just look at it as a fan. When the movies perform well and are well received, it’s good for us – which is why I’m always rooting for them.”

Marvel Studios has been criticized for their lack of female fronted films over the years, but “Wonder Woman” has proved that films focused on strong women can be successful within the genre.

Feige also praised the movie and said that the success has made everyone happy.

“The success of Wonder Woman is wonderful. It makes us incredibly happy. Finally, we can put to rest the falsehood that audiences don’t want to see female characters. We never believed that was true. There were a run of movies that just weren’t very good 10-15 years ago that caused that reputation. I’m glad that Wonder Woman has blown that away.”
