The “Terminator” franchise is a franchise that just won’t die, even though most fans feel that Hollywood should probably just let it rest. The first two films in the franchise have been universally praised, and even though the 3 films that followed do have their fans, they’ve been met with mostly negative reviews.

Now another film is being made in the series, but there is a little more hope for this one because James Cameron is returning, and he confirmed to THR that Linda Hamilton will also be reprising her role as Sarah Connor.

“We’re starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story,” Cameron said. “We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it.”

Story details are under wraps, but it’s being teased that the movie could be a direct sequel to “T2: Judgement Day.”

“Deadpool” director Tim Miller is set to helm the film and James Cameron will produce.

Linda Hamilton is currently 60 years old, and Cameron hopes that her return will make a statement.

“As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return. There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys,” he said. But there isn’t an example of that for women.”

Stay tuned for details on a release date.
