The Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded in a big way over the last few years, and there’s now a large cast of characters attached to the MCU. Fans will get to see all of their favorite characters come together in “Avengers: Infinity War” later this month, but there’s also a lot of talk in regards to who will be getting standalone films in Phase 4.
Elizabeth Olsen recently spoke to Metro about Scarlet Witch possibly getting her own standalone film, and she noted that she would love to do a film adaptation of “House of M.”
“I would love to [do a standalone], and I would love it to be House Of M, which is a comic book series of The Vision and Scarlet Witch having a make-believe family. She [Wanda] believes she has twin children – she alters her own reality to believe that, but really she has a miscarriage and Vision goes along with it. Then they [Vision and her family] have to tell her that she was make-believing the entire time, and she has a very traumatic experience and screams, and kills all the mutants – but that’s an X-Men story so we’d have to adjust the ending.”
Of course with mutants playing such a big role in “House of M” at one point it seemed that a MCU adaptation of the story would never happen, but times have changed.
It’s believed that Disney’s deal with FOX will officially be done in 2019, which means that Marvel Studios will be able to use mutants and other X-Men related characters once the deal goes through. So, what once seemed like an impossible dream could potentially become a reality.
