Arrow Season 7 Already Has A Villain

“Arrow” season 6 kicked off back in October, and all summer long fans wondered where the show would go after pitting Oliver against Adrian Chase in season 5. It appears that “Arrow” is going in a different direction this season, as Team Arrow is facing off against a team of villains rather than one big bad.

The midseason finale recently aired on the CW, so there’s still several months to go before the season comes to an end, and even though the show hasn’t officially been picked up for another season yet, the writers are already planning season 7.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently spoke to Comicbook.com about what’s to come in the future, and he said that the writers have early plans in place for season 4 of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” and season 7 of “Arrow.”

“I would say on Legends we have an idea for what I will call the raison d’etre of Season 4,” the producer continued. “Like, I think each Season has had a raison d’etre. And we have, for Arrow, a plan for the Big Bad. I can’t say that both will absolutely come to pass, because we always give ourselves the freedom to come up with a better idea. And that does happen on occasion. But I would describe it as some really nice clarity about where both shows would be going in their subsequent seasons. We don’t have official pickups on either one but we’re kind of expecting them. The ratings have been pretty good this year.”

Even though announcements regarding new seasons probably won’t be made until the spring it’s probably safe to say that both shows will end up getting renewed, as the “Arrowverse” has been a big success for the CW, and the crossovers generate quite a bit of buzz for the network.

“Arrow” will return in January and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will return in February.
