The “Arrow” season 6 midseason finale changed the status quo for Team Arrow in a big way, as three members walked away from the team. Wild Dog was kicked off, and Black Canary and Mr. Terrific decided to leave after they found out that they were being tracked by original Team Arrow.
Now it’s just Oliver, Diggle and Felicity, and with Diggle in less than optimal condition for combat, it’s safe to say the weeks ahead aren’t going to be easy for the Green Arrow.
Oliver is stubborn, so he’ll be going it alone for a while, but it looks like he’ll be getting a visit from an old friend.
Stephen Amell recently posted a photo on Facebook of Colton Haynes which appears to tease Roy Harper’s return to “Arrow.”
Executive producer Wendy Mericle confirmed in an interview a few months ago that Roy will be returning to Star City at some point, and she noted that his relationship with Thea will be one of the things that brings him back.
“For us, it’s really going to come down to Thea. We talked a lot in the writers’ room about what Roy has been doing in the years he’s been away from Star City. Right now, the idea that we’re toying around with is he’s gotten himself into some hot water. When he comes back, it’s for a couple of reasons. It’s probably to ask for some help and also because he and Thea have some unfinished business in the relationship department. That’s a relationship that we felt Season 4 played very well and it’s something we’d like to continue and see where we go.”
Thea recently woke up from her coma, so it would make sense to bring Roy back into the picture at this point.
Hopefully we’ll be seeing him suit up as Arsenal at lease one more time.
“Arrow” will return in January.
