“Avengers: Infinity War” is set to be released next year, and fans won’t have to wait very long for “Avengers 4” because the film will arrive in theaters in 2019. It looks like Clint Barton could be going through some changes over the course of the two films, and Jeremy Renner recently shared a photo showing off a new look for the Avenger.
Now it appears that Clint Barton could be abandoning the Hawkeye identity altogether in “Avengers 4” as MCU Exchange is reporting that Barton is set to appear as an iteration of Ronin in the film.
In the comics Clint Barton was the second person to adopt the Ronin identity when he rejoined the New Avengers after the events of Civil War. However, it’s being reported that the MCU version won’t follow the template from the comics.
Apparently one specific event will leave Barton in a very dark place which will prompt him to take on the new identity.
Please note that this is an unconfirmed rumor, but it does seem to fit the tone of the two films, as Steve Rogers looks much more grizzled than he did in “Captain America: Civil War” and it looks like the films will be taking on a darker tone compared to other movies in the MCU.
