Yes, Tom Cavanagh Will Return As A Series Regular In The Flash Season 3

Another season of “The Flash” has come and gone and once again the finale ripped our hearts out and then cut them up into a thousand tiny little pieces. One of the most heartbreaking moments in the finale was when Jesse Quick and Harry Wells returned to Earth-2. Let’s be honest, Harry was kind of a dick, but we hated watching him go. He may have been a dick, but he was an entertaining and at times lovable dick. That doesn’t sound right, moving on.

It was heartbreaking watching Quick and Wells leave because no one knew if we would be seeing them again. Tom Cavanagh has been such a key member of the cast for the past two seasons that it’s hard to imagine a season of “The Flash” without him. Well the good news is that in Entertainment Weekly’s Spoiler Room article this week it was confirmed that Tom Cavanagh will indeed be returning as a series regular for season 3.

“Details on next season are being kept tightly under wraps, but I can tell you that Tom Cavanagh will be back as a series regular for season 3. Consider this: If the show does indeed move forward with Flashpoint, then the Reverse-Flash never killed Earth-1 Harrison Wells and his wife, meaning we could see the original Wells next season. Maybe. Hopefully.”

So far Tom Cavanagh has played Eobard Thawne in the body of Harrison Wells, he’s played Harrison Wells from Earth-2 and he’s also played Harrison Wells of Earth-1. Harrison Wells of Earth-1 was the character that he spent the least amount of time playing because he was killed by Eobard Thawne. But now that Barry has changed the timeline and the Reverse-Flash hasn’t killed Harrison Wells, it seems pretty likely that Earth-1 Harrison Wells is the character Cavanagh will be playing this time around. But who knows, anything can happen. We all know how the writers of “The Flash” love to throw curveballs at the audience.
