“Ragnarok” is without a doubt the funniest Thor film to date, and it features some pretty hilarious and well timed cameos. One of the biggest cameos fans are talking about features Matt Damon acting in a theater in Asgard where he plays Loki.

Chris Hemsworth had a lot of influence over the direction of the film, as it was recently revealed that he suggest Thor’s new haircut and that his hammer be destroyed. It turns out that Hemsworth is also partially responsible for Matt Damon’s cameo, as director Taika Waititi recently told EW that Damon agreed to do the cameo because of his friendship with Hemsworth.

“Well Matt and Chris are very good friends,” explains Waititi. “We were looking for someone to play Loki and it felt like if Loki was going to write a play about his death he’d want the star of the Asgard theater scene to be in the play.”
