The Flash is a fan-favorite character in the franchise thanks to some slick moves in “Injustice: Gods Among Us” and have been trying to figure out who might be providing the voice for the character.

Rumor has it that Grant Gustin may be doing some voice-work for the game, and the rumor seems to have started picking up steam after the game’s IMDB page was updated to include Gustin’s name.

Just because Grant’s name has appeared on the game’s IMDB page that certainly doesn’t mean he’s been confirmed for the game, as it’s not known who may have edited the page. As of this writing neither Warner Bros. or Netherrealm have made any sort of announcement regarding Grant’s participation, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility either.

Stephen Amell did some voiceover work for Green Arrow in “Injustice: Gods Among Us” so it wouldn’t be the first time a CW actor has crossed over to the game world. Amell’s voiceover could be heard when fans selected the alternate costume for Green Arrow labeled as “The Arrow.”

Given Grant Gustin’s popularity it’s not hard to believe that we may see The Flash get a similar treatment in “Injustice 2” with a CW style alternate suit complete with Grant’s voice.

The cast of characters is slowly being revealed and so far Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, The Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Aquaman and Atrocitus have all been confirmed.

The roster will surely be growing before 2017 arrives, and Netherealm Studios founder Ed Boon is teasing that Red Hood may be joining the cast of characters.

He posted a poll on Twitter asking fans to vote on which Red Hood they would like to see in the game, The Joker or Jason Todd.

So far with 15,163 votes cast, Jason Todd is leading with 81%.

The original Red Hood was was a criminal who later fell into a vat of chemicals and became the villain now known as The Joker. Jason Todd, the former Robin, then adopted the moniker after he was “murdered” by The Joker.

Warner Bros. recently announced that “Injustice 2” will be released next year and so far the roster looks impressive. Characters that have been confirmed for the game include The Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl, Superman, Batman, Atrocitus and Wonder Woman.

The full roster has yet to be revealed, but Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be holding a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 22, 2016 and it’s been confirmed that at least two more playable characters will be announced.

The official description for the Comic-Con panel reads as follows:

“Get a Comic-Con International exclusive look at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Injustice 2, the super-powered sequel to the hit game Injustice: Gods Among Us. The newest game in development from the award-winning NetherRealm Studios features the largest roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains ever offered, allowing players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters. Battles will take place across arenas that have evolved in scale and span across iconic locations such as Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis. The trailer was a nice tease and it got everyone pumped for the game, but it also left us longing for some gameplay footage. Well the good news is that Netherealm didn’t make us wait too long because they’ve released the very first gameplay trailer and it features Gorilla Grodd, Aquaman, Superman and more battling it out. There have been a lot of rumors going around over the past few years but today “Injustice 2” was officially announced. An official date hasn’t been confirmed yet but according to the trailer the game will be released in 2017. You can check out the first official trailer below.

Netherealm also announced that the game will be introducing the Gear System which will allow players to customize their characters. The following was posted on the official Playstation blog.

The Gear System uses RPG-like mechanics to reward you with loot drops every time you play the game. With each loot drop, you will earn character-specific gear to outfit and power up your roster – changing not only the look of each character, but your fight strategy and your personal approach to every match. As you gear up your characters, you’re building a roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains that reflects your choices, and your preferences, which can be vastly different than your opponents. A few play sessions in, you can expect your Aquaman to look and play different than anyone else’s Aquaman you may come across.
