Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn Possibly Starring In Female Fronted DC Film

Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is already one of the most popular characters in the DCEU and she hasn’t even made her debut on the big screen yet. “Suicide Squad” isn’t set to hit theaters until August, but rumor has it that Margot Robbie is already attached to another film where she would be reprising her role as Harley Quinn.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Warner Bros. is contemplating a film that will focus on DC’s female heroes and villains. Margot Robbie is reportedly set to star in and produce the film. It was noted that the movie won’t be a Harley Quinn solo film, but rather an ensemble film that could include Batgirl and/or the Birds of Prey in some capacity. A female writer is also said to be attached to the project but it’s not known at this time who the writer is.

Apparently Margot Robbie is the one who helped to set the project in motion as she fell in love with DC’s female characters while doing research for “Suicide Squad.” Robbie brought in the writer to help develop the project and then she presented it to Warner Bros.

Female fronted films are lacking right now in the superhero genre and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is extremely popular right now so this sounds like it could potentially be a good move by DC and Warner Bros. You can catch Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn on the big screen when “Suicide Squad” hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
