It’s been almost two years since “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hit theaters, and soon fans will be able to enjoy the follow up when “The Last Jedi” opens in theaters in December.
Luke Skywalker didn’t appear until the final scene of “The Force Awakens” and judging from the trailers that have been released so far for “The Last Jedi” some fans are worried that Luke may have turned to the dark side.
However, Mark Hamill recently spoke to Disney Insider, and he said that even though Luke isn’t in a very good place, that doesn’t mean he’s evil.
“In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke has lost confidence in his ability to make good choices. It haunts him to the core. But he hasn’t gone to the dark side. This isn’t an evil version of him. But it’s still an incarnation of the character I never expected. It has pulled me out of my comfort zone. It’s a real challenge. I don’t think Luke’s fundamental personality has changed except that he is older and his life experiences have shaped his outlook the same way they do for all of us.”
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens in theaters on December 17, 2017.
