Henry Cavill On Why Batman v Superman Was So Divisive

Next week “Justice League” will finally hit theaters, and it will be the fifth film in the DCEU so far. The film will bring together the heroes of the DC film universe in a battle against Steppenwolf, and fans seem to be cautiously optimistic about the movie.

The DCEU has its fair share of fans, but it also has its fair share of detractors as well. Most of the films have been met with mixed reviews, with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” proving to be the most divisive.

Henry Cavill recently spoke to Fox 5 DC about the backlash that the film received, and he said that he thinks the film had a niche style within the genre.

“I think it was — that movie is… it’s part of an arc for what [director Zack Snyder’s] vision was, or is, and it’s also, in my mind, fairly niche. It’s a niche style of movie within a genre and it reflects in the audience reviews and critic reviews, it’s divisive. When anything is niche, it’s gonna be liked and loved by some and disliked by others, and that’s the whole point of niche.”
