Konami Says They’re Not Leaving The Metal Gear Franchise Behind

It’s been a rough year for Konami. There have been a lot of rumors going around about the company’s future and which direction they will take. It’s long been rumored that Konami would be leaving the world of console development but apparently that’s not the case.

A spokesman for Konami recently confirmed via Nintendo Life that they’re not leaving console gaming behind and they aren’t leaving the Metal Gear franchise behind either.

“I can promise you that we’re definitely not leaving ‘Metal Gear’ behind or anything like that. I know some blogs were claiming that online this morning, but I’m not really sure where they’d be getting that from. We’re definitely working on console games and franchises such as ‘Metal Gear,’ ‘Silent Hill,’ ‘Castlevania,’ ‘PES’ and all the rest.” The spokesman said.

It was believed that after Konami parted ways with the visionary Hideo Kojima that they would stop producing Metal Gear games. But it’s now being reported that company is actually staffing up for a new Metal Gear game.

It should be interesting to see what the future holds for Konami.
