The Marvel Cinematic Universe turns 10 next year, and it all kicked off with “Iron Man” in 2008. Since then many heroes and villains have been introduced to the MCU, but most of the villains haven’t stuck around.

Jeff Bridges played Obadiah Stane, who was the main villain in “Iron Man” and in the original version of the script the Iron Monger suit was set to open at the end of the film to show that Stane had lived. However, plans changed but that doesn’t mean Marvel Studios has ruled out the possibility of him coming back someday.

During a recent interview with Uproxx, Feige was asked about the script and he noted that he’s open to the idea of bringing Jeff Bridges back.

“Well, that would be awesome to have him come back. That would be great,” Feige said.

Feige went on to say that original plans called for the Mandarin to be the main villain of the film, but Marvel Studios called an audible.

“As you may recall, when he was hired, he was a secondary villain to the Mandarin. And as we were prepping the movie we realized we didn’t want to do the Mandarin in that movie. And when we took him out and made Obadiah the lead villain, Iron Man became what Iron Man became. But what was required is that Iron Monger [Obadiah Stane] had to go down into that arc reactor.”

Eventually the Mandarin did appear in “Iron Man 3” but the version we got definitely wasn’t what fans were hoping for.
