The Jurassic Park franchise is back in a big way thanks to “Jurassic World” and the sequel is set to hit theaters next year. Ever since the sequel was announced we’ve all been simply referring to it as “Jurassic World 2” but now the film has an official title that doesn’t include a number. Today it was revealed that the sequel will be called “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.”

That title sounds pretty ominous doesn’t it?

If you’ve seen the first film, or any Jurassic Park movie for that matter, then you’re probably well aware that humans and dinosaurs don’t mix, and it looks like the franchise will be raising the stakes this time around.

Chris Pratt said in an interview a few months ago that the story will move the franchise forward in an unexpected way, and that the film will be darker and scarier than the first.

Oh yeah, Jeff Goldblum is returning for the sequel as well, so that’s something to be excited about.

“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” will arrive in theaters on June 22, 2018.

Located off the coast of Costa Rica, the Jurassic World luxury resort provides a habitat for an array of genetically engineered dinosaurs, including the vicious and intelligent Indominus rex. When the massive creature escapes, it sets off a chain reaction that causes the other dinos to run amok. Now, it’s up to a former military man and animal expert (Chris Pratt) to use his special skills to save two young brothers and the rest of the tourists from an all-out, prehistoric assault.
