A few years back when Sony was searching for the next Peter Parker, Josh Hutcherson who’s best known for his role as Peeta in The Hunger Games was on the shortlist of names being considered. In the end he lost out on the role when Andrew Garfield was cast but Hutcherson recently told Yahoo Movies that he’s still interested in playing Spidey on the big screen.
“Yeah, of course I’d think about doing it: It’s Spider-Man, that’d be really cool,” Hutcherson said to Yahoo Movies. “There’s not been any conversations about that, but who knows what would happen?”
Hutcherson is only 22 and the rumor is that Sony/Marvel want a younger Spider-Man. A decision will likely be made soon as to who gets the role as Spider-Man is expected to appear in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War which starts shooting in April.
