The Flash made his DCEU debut in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and the Scarlet Speedster had a quick cameo in “Suicide Squad.” Barry Allen will be getting a lot more screen time in November when “Justice League” hits theaters, and this weekend Warner Bros. announced big plans for his standalone movie.

The Flash movie has encountered a number of setbacks so far, and news on the development of the film has been slow due to the fact that a director has yet to be announced. But DC dropped a huge bomb on fans at San Diego International Comic Con when they announced the the very first standalone Flash movie will be titled “Flashpoint.”
“Flashpoint” is the story of how Barry Allen goes back in time to save his mother before she is killed by the Reverse Flash, but by doing so he creates a new timeline where Superman is a lab rat, Cyborg is the quintessential hero, Aquaman and Wonder Woman are at war, Thomas Wayne is Batman and Martha Wayne is the Joker.
In the DCEU, Thomas Wayne is played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Martha Wayne is played by Lauren Cohan. Fans of “The Walking Dead” know the two stars as Negan and Maggie from the show, and they could potentially have big parts to play in “Flashpoint.”
DC has yet to officially announce their plans for “Flashpoint” so it’s not known at this point if the actors will definitely be working in their respective roles, but it would seem to make sense given that they’re already established as those characters in the DCEU.
Once news about the movie surfaced online, Jeffrey Dean Morgan took to Twitter to acknowledge the announcement, and leave fans with a little teaser.
