Fox’s X-Men film universe will be expanding over the next few years with another Deadpool film, another X-Men film a likely X-Force film and a film based on New Mutants. It’s been rumored for quite some time that James McAvoy would be reprising his role as Professor X for “New Mutants” but according to Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter, the rumors are untrue.

Borys also noted that Nat Wolff has not been cast as Cannonball.

It was also recently revealed that “Split” star Anya Taylor-Joy and “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams will be joining the cast as Magik and Wolfsbane respectively.
“New Mutants” is set to be directed by Josh Boone and production is scheduled to start in July. As of right now the film has a release date of April 13, 2018.
