Hugh Jackman officially retired from the role of Wolverine this year, but there’s no denying he had a good run. Jackman’s Wolverine was placed at the forefront for the majority of the X-Men films that have been released so far, and one of the biggest plot points concerning Wolverine was his love for Jean Grey. However, it appears that Wolverine also had another love interest in the film series.

Halle Barry recently spoke to People, and she talked about Storm’s romantic history with Wolverine. Berry proclaimed, “Storm and Logan used to be lovers. It’s true. Storm and Logan had a thing.”

If you’ve been following the X-Men film series closely, then you’d be forgiven for not knowing their love was a thing, as it wasn’t exactly something that was alluded to, however, in a deleted scene from “X-Men: Days of Future Past” Wolverine and Storm can be seen kissing before Logan is sent into the past.

Berry says she and Jackman kept the material for their backstories, and that their love was “wonderful” but “only for a time.”

So what got in the way of their romance? According to Halle Berry Jean Grey is to blame.

“When he really decided that Jean Grey was his [love] … that caused a problem. The having two girls at once thing, that didn’t work for … that doesn’t work for Storm.”

It’s tough to see how and/or where their romance fits into the continuity of the series, but then again, this series threw continuity out the window a long time ago.
