Gotham Star Cameron Monaghan Wants To Play Carnage In Sony’s Venom Movie

Everyone’s talking about Spider-Man at the moment thanks to the fact that “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is swinging into theaters in just a few weeks. Beyond “Homecoming” Sony has big plans for the Spider-Man universe, as it was recently announced that Tom Hardy will be playing Eddie Brock in an upcoming Venom standalone movie.

Venom is going to need a big villain to go up against in his first solo film, and it was recently reported that the villain will be none other than Carnage. As of right now Sony has yet to make any casting announcements in regards to who will be playing Cletus Kasady, but one star has thrown his name into the mix for consideration.

“Gotham” star Cameron Monaghan who plays Jerome on the show recently took to social media to say that it would be a dream come true to play Carnage in the Venom movie after a fan suggested him for the movie. He posted the following:

Production is set to kick off in September, so it’s likely that Sony will be making a casting announcement sooner than later. Do you think Cameron Monaghan would be a good fit for the role?
