Fox Still Moving Ahead With Fantastic Four 2?

It’s been a rough few days for “Fantastic Four.” The film is getting trashed by both fans and critics alike and it also tanked at the box office. Despite the fact that the movie seems to be universally disliked on several different levels, all signs point to Fox moving ahead with the sequel.

“While we’re disappointed, we remain committed to these characters and we have a lot to look forward to in our Marvel universe,” said Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson according to The Hollywood Reporter. Although their article did mention that he declined to specifically comment on a “Fantastic Four” sequel.

Drew McWeeny of HitFix is also saying that all signs point to a sequel for “Fantastic Four.”

“Everything I’ve heard would indicate that the studio will move forward with a Fantastic Four sequel. It may not make that original 2017 date, but they’re definitely planning to make it.” McWeeny said.

Of course this could just be Fox put feelers out in the field to keep the hype train for the movie going. But it looks like that hype train derailed a long time ago. If the current trend of people not going out to see the movie continues, then it looks like Fox is going to lose a good amount of money on this film.

“Fantastic Four” is in theaters now.
