Ewan McGregor Thinks It Would Be Fun To Make Two Obi-Wan Kenobi Films

Star Wars made its triumphant return to cinema last year with “The Force Awakens” and with “Rogue One” coming later this year the franchise is certainly all the rage right now.

With films like “Rogue One” and the upcoming Han Solo spin-off, the films are starting to break away from the core saga, and branch out into other avenues of the Star Wars universe.

Now that Star Wars is back up and running on all cylinders, fans often ask about the possibility of an Obi-Wan Kenobi film. One of the things that fans seem to be most interested in seeing is a film that focuses on Obi-Wan’s time between “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope.”

Fans aren’t the only ones who want to see it happen as Ewan McGregor has also expressed interest in being part of an Obi-Wan film. McGregor recently spoke to Premiere about his upcoming film “American Pastoral” and during the interview he talked a little bit about Star Wars.

““I’ve always thought there was a story to tell between my last one and Alec Guinness’ first one,” McGregor told Premiere via Den of Geek. “It would be fun to film that story now I’m older. I’d be the right age. I’m forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them (laughs)!”

“I hope that they’re going to explore different genres under the Star Wars banner. And one of those could be an Obi-Wan Kenobi feature film. Or two! The Obi-Wan Kenobi Story Part 1 and Part 2!”

At this rate it looks like we’re going to be getting a new Star Wars movie every year until the end of time, so hopefully one, or two, of those films will focus on Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan.
