Disney’s Deal With Fox Is Getting Close And Could Be Announced Next Week

Over the past few weeks the internet has been worked into a frenzy thanks to reports claiming that Disney is actively trying to acquire Fox. The deal could mean huge changes for the Fox TV and film studios, and it appears that it’s close to becoming a reality.

CNBC reports that the two parties are closing in on a deal, and everything could be put in place as soon as next week.

If the deal does get done then it will see Disney acquire the film and TV studios from Fox while Fox retains its news and sports assets.

This deal could potentially be a dream come true for Marvel fans who have been waiting a long time to see the X-Men and the Fantastic Four join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and itĀ seems as though the timing couldn’t be better with a new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe set to kick off after “Avengers 4.”

Fox has 3 X-Men movies on their release schedule for 2018 with “The New Mutants,” “Deadpool 2,” and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” but it’s interesting to note that production for the “Gambit” film was recently delayed, and one can’t help but wonder if the potential Disney/Fox deal was the reason for the movie getting pushed back once again.

The enterprise value for the Fox assets that Disney would be acquiring are estimated to be worth $60 billion.

Stay tuned for updates.
