Daisy Ridley Clarifies Her Comments About Not Wanting To Play Rey In A New Star Wars Trilogy

Last week Daisy Ridley blew up the internet when it was reported by Rolling Stone that Daisy didn’t want to return as Rey after “Episode IX.”

But Ridley was recently asked about the interview by Comicbook.com, and she says that she was misquoted. According to Ridley she was asked about the story going forward, and all she said was that it ends with “Episode IX.”

“Misquoted. I was misquoted,” said Ridley. “I was asked — by the way, at the end of a very long day, at the end of a very long shoot — I was asked how I felt going forward. And I said, in my mind, the story finishes at Episode IX.”

She went on to add that it’s not that she doesn’t want to return for more films in the future, but when she signed on she pictured herself being part of the trilogy.

“Obviously, Rey will always be Rey… and obviously I don’t know what happens in Episode IX, or even if I’m in it. But for now I think it would be- To me, IX was always the end of this chapter. So, it’s not me going ‘I don’t want to.’ It’s just that’s what I always pictured.”

It still seems as though Ridley is a little uncertain regarding her future with the franchise, but then again, there’s been no confirmation that Disney and Lucasfilm will be continuing the story of Rey after “Episode IX” anyway.

A new trilogy has been confirmed, but it was also confirmed that the new trilogy will be introducing new characters from a different part of the galaxy.

In any case, the world has been patiently waiting to find out more about Rey, and we’ll get out chance when “The Last Jedi” hits theaters on December 15.
