The Star Wars franchise has seen some of the most famous actors in history step into its hallowed halls, and next year the franchise will return to the big screen for “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

The jury is still very much out on whether or not the film is going to be good, but nevertheless, the movie is stacked with a solid cast that includes Woody Harrelson who will be playing Han Solo’s mentor.

Woody Harrelson seems like a pretty solid choice for the role, but during a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via CBM) Christian Bale confirmed that he was offered the role as well.

“Yes, [it was] very tempting. I not only love the films going back to my childhood but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did Empire of the Sun many years back. There was discussion, [and] I hope there will be future discussions.”

Even though Bale decided not to step into the Star Wars universe this time around, it’s nice to know that he’s open to having more discussions in the future.

With Disney set to release a new Star Wars movie every year until the end of time, it’s safe to say they’ll probably be able to find something for him to do.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” opens in theaters on May 25, 2018.
