“Avengers: Infinity War” will hit theaters next year, and hype for the film has reached a whole new level after the first trailer leaked last weekend. The trailer showed quite a bit of footage in space, and it also gave fans their first glimpse at what it’s going to be like when the Avengers go toe to toe with Thanos.

So much of the hype behind the film has been built around the fact that the Guardians of the Galaxy are going to meet the Avengers for the first time, and it’s already been confirmed by the trailer that they will be meeting Thor in outer space.

Even though a lot of the thrill when it comes to “Infinity War” is centered on the fact that the Avengers will be fighting in space, co-director Joe Russo told CinemaBlend at San Diego Comic Con that the film will feature plenty of scenes on Earth.

“A good amount. It’s a lot of different narratives driving towards each other. A lot of different characters, so you have to tell a lot of story. And it’s a good mix between space and Earth.”

A decent portion of the trailer was dedicated to showing footage from the scenes in space, so it will be fun to see how the Russos balance the stories being told on Earth and in outer space.

If the workd they did with “Captain America: Civil War” is any indication, then fans have a lot to be excited for.

“Avengers: Infinity War” will arrive in theaters on May 4, 2018.
